Scott graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) located in Portland, Oregon, with a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He then traveled to Nan Jing, China and completed an internship in 2 Western hospitals, utilizing acupuncture, Chinese herbs, cupping, moxibustion and other therapies. Afterwards, he worked on cruise ships as the on-board acupuncturist where he treated more than 2,000 patients using acupuncture and herbal remedies as well as lecturing two to three times a week with titles such as "What is Chinese Medicine," "History of Acupuncture," and "Benefits of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine." Following this, he established an acupuncture program at Mii Amo/Enchantment, a world class resort spa in Sedona. In addition to his work at the University of Arizona Integrative Health Center in Phoenix, Scott maintains a private practice at Thunder and Wind Acupuncture in Sedona, Arizona.
