Candice Candelaria is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a specialized background in genetics and metabolism.
While studying pre-med as an undergrad, she took a required nutrition course and fell in love. Changing her major and direction, she earned her bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of New Mexico. Continuing to follow her heart, Candice then went on to complete her dietetic internship, earn a certificate in sustainable gardening, and earn her master's degree in medical dietetics from Saint Louis University.
Candice worked with the Phoenix Genetics Program for several years, specializing in inborn errors of metabolism. She loves the team approach to medicine and is excited to be working with the Integrative Health Center's diverse wellness practitioners.
Candice's approach and passion for nutrition comes from a personal place. After struggling with severe GI and other medical problems throughout her life, she has learned how to utilize food for prevention, for healing, and for wellness. Candice appreciates food for all aspects it encompasses (social, emotional, spiritual, and nourishment) and encourages patients to do so as well.
Her main focus is to create a fun, honest, and realistic approach to your individual nutrition needs. She believes that education and understanding are the foundation for growth and sustainable success. She looks forward to working with you, to help navigate and explore the complex web that is nutrition today.
